Looking for Spring

Ella likes sliding down on her back, feet first, but it takes a lot of gyrating to get herself into position.
Ella paused each time before going down the slide to check out the other kids on the playground.
She started on the baby slides, but soon ventured over to the larger slides (above). She's always looking for a chance to show what a "big girl" she is.

It doesn't really look very springish in the pictures, but I noticed the rooks are back in the park, one of the first signs of spring in Moscow. Even though I know logically that spring has to come (doesn't it?) it's hard to remember when winter holds on so tenaciously through until April. It's sort of like living in Narnia, always winter and never Christmas (New Years is the big winter holiday here, and Christmas is barely observed).

after russia, you guys should spend some time in the south. spring lasts about 5 months here. winter is so overrated. except that it does kill all the bugs.
